Lately, I've been on the lookout for a body wash that not only cleans well but also has a refreshing scent without being overpowering. After seeing the Method Men Body Wash in Sea + Surf, and being drawn to its promises of being paraben and phthalate-free, I decided to order the pack of three and see if it lived up to the hype.
The body wash arrived securely packaged. The bottles themselves have a clean, minimalist design which I appreciate. The Sea + Surf variant features a cool, ocean-inspired blue label. The bottle has a pump dispenser, which is always a plus in the shower for easy, one-handed use. Holding the bottle, it feels sturdy and well-made. The liquid inside has a slightly gel-like consistency.
The key features highlighted for this body wash are its plant-based cleansers, the Sea + Surf fragrance, and the fact that it's paraben and phthalate-free. The packaging also mentions it's softening for the skin. For someone conscious about ingredients, the "free of" aspects are definitely appealing.
Stepping into the shower, the first thing that struck me was the scent. The Sea + Surf fragrance is exactly as it sounds – a fresh, aquatic scent with a hint of something a little woodsy or earthy. It’s definitely masculine without being too strong or artificial. The scent filled the shower nicely but wasn't overpowering once I was out.
The pump dispensed a good amount of product with a single press. The body wash lathered up nicely and evenly with a washcloth. It felt smooth on my skin and rinsed away cleanly without leaving any sticky or greasy residue, which is something I always look for. My skin felt clean and refreshed after showering. While I can't definitively say it "softened" my skin dramatically after just a few uses, it certainly didn't leave it feeling dry or tight, which some harsher soaps can do.
